O'Hara and Co. Lead Men's Lacrosse to Win Over Battlers

HARROGATE, Tenn. – On a beautiful clear sky day, the Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse program hosted a matinee matchup with Alderson Broaddus and came away with a 18-12 victory on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Kevin Jendrasik got things started for the Railsplitters just 25 seconds into the contest to give LMU a 1-0 lead, but the Battlers answered right back just a minute later to even things up at 1. Lincoln Memorial then flourished behind goals from Carson Bowling and Francis O'Hara for three straight unanswered tallies to take a 4-1 lead. Caleb Raydo got on the scoresheet with just 26 seconds left in the first to give LMU a 5-2 lead after one quarter.
 
The Battlers came out of the two-minute pause on fire as they brought the LMU lead to just one at the 8:46 mark in the second. The Railsplitters then scored four more in the remaining time to take a 10-6 lead into the halftime break.
 
It was all Lincoln Memorial in the third frame as the Railsplitters broke out a seven-goal quarter to take a 17-9 lead with 15 minutes left of play. Raydo, O'Hara and Blake Moxim all completed their hat tricks in the third period. Aiden Smith tallied his first of the afternoon at the 2:57 mark in the third.
 
The Railsplitters played keep away in the fourth, but a couple of key turnovers allowed the Battlers to net one less than two minutes into the final frame. Alderson Broaddus was able to get another goal netted just moments later to make the LMU lead now 17-11. Lincoln Memorial extended their lead back to seven as Smith netted his second of the afternoon at the 6:57 mark. The Battlers went onto net the final tally of the contest at the 5:01 mark as the Railsplitters locked down on the defensive end for the final five minutes to secure the victory, 18-12, over Alderson Broaddus.
 
O'Hara finished the afternoon with four goals and one ground ball to lead LMU while Raydo and Moxim both finished the afternoon with three goals apiece. Jendrasik, Smith and Rhodes Conroy all tallied two goals each in the win while Bowling and Hunter Kot rounded out all LMU scorers with one goal apiece.
 
Christian Cliff and Jordan Sullivan played locked down defense on the afternoon as the duo lead the LMU backline alongside Dillon Ricketts and Hunter Rinehart. Rinehart picked up his second consecutive victory in the cage as the sophomore notched 13 saves in the win. Freshman Haden Berry dominated at the faceoff x as the Cookeville, Tennessee native won a career-high 20 faceoffs in 33 attempts on the afternoon.
