COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball team fought for three sets, but fell to the nationally ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon.
The Buckeyes found their rhythm early they used a four-point run to take a 10-5 lead before further extending their lead on a 6-1 run to make it 17-8. The Railsplitters tried to cut into the OSU lead, but Ohio State was able to hold on to capture the first set, 25-14.
Lincoln Memorial fell down early in the second but was able to gain some ground with a 4-1 run to cut the Buckeye lead to 9-8. Ohio State responded with a run of their own, but the Railsplitters were able to answer. The Buckeyes used another 4-1 run to create the separation needed in order to pull away with the second set, 25-20.
The Railsplitters opened up the third set with a high offensive presence as they took a 10-7 lead. Ohio State took their first lead of the third after a three-point run to make it 15-13. The Buckeyes went onto maintain the lead for the remainder of the set as the Railsplitters tried to make a comeback, but Ohio State was able to secure the victory.

The Railsplitters will travel to St. Charles, Missouri for the Lindenwood Invite where they will play three matches starting with Lindenwood on Friday, March 11 with an 8 p.m. ET first serve.
