GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lincoln Memorial field hockey team fell to conference foe Limestone 6-0 on Sunday afternoon at Saints Field. The Railsplitters (0-5, 0-3 South Atlantic Conference) got 12 saves from goalkeeper
Ana Carney and were down 2-0 entering the fourth quarter, but the Saints (2-4, 1-1 SAC) pulled away late for the win.
Carney made nine saves to limit Limestone to two goals through the first three frames. The Saints scored one goal each in the first and second quarters, while Carney held them scoreless in the third.
Limestone's Josefina Golppi scored twice, while four other players on the hosts scored one goal each on the day. The Saints held the Railsplitters without a shot for the entirety of the match.
