Women's Volleyball Falls to No. 9 Nebraska-Kearney

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team fell in three sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-14) to No. 9 Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday afternoon in its third game of the Kentucky Wesleyan Tournament. The Railsplitters (1-6) wrap up the trip north by playing Kentucky State Saturday night.

Set 1: Nebraska-Kearney 25-12
The Lopers got out to an early 6-1 advantage and steadily built the lead to as high as the final margin of 13 points. Kristen Moehring's four kills led the Lincoln Memorial offense in the opening frame.

Set 2: Nebraska-Kearney 25-14
The Railsplitters led 8-7 early in the set thanks to three kills from Ketura Margaret. Nebraska-Kearney, however, came back with a 6-1 scoring run and would lead by at least three the rest of the way. Katie Bedel, Maggie Sanderson and Margaret all had multiple kills in the second frame.

Set 3: Nebraska-Kearney 25-14
After Lincoln Memorial's Kaley Long kill started the scoring with a kill, the Lopers soon embarked on a 14-1 scoring run to lead 14-2. The Railsplitters responded with a 5-0 run highlighted by back-to-back kills from Margaret, but Nebraska-Kearney led by at least seven for the remainder of the set. Margaret again led the Railsplitter offense in the third frame, this time with three kills.

The No. 9-ranked Lopers posted a .487 hitting percentage.

- Margaret got 10 points on nine kills and two block assists.
- Amanda Lisi contributed 21 assists, four digs, a kill and a block.
