The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team returns home for matches with Mount Olive and Barton on Friday and Saturday for its first home games of the 2023 season. The Railsplitters play Mount Olive at 5 p.m. on Friday and Barton at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Mary Mars Gym.
 
Lincoln Memorial enters the weekend at 1-3 after beating No. 7 UC Santa Barbara in five sets in the season-opening west coast roadswing. The win over the Gauchos was the highest-ranked opponent the team has defeated in program history.
 
Head coach John Cash and the Railsplitters are coming off a 2022 season when they went 20-7, beat two ranked foes (No. 11 Loyola-Chicago on Jan. 28 and at No. 14 McKendree on March 12), and won the Independent Volleyball Association Tournament Championship.
 
Railsplitter Strikes
	- The Railsplitters rank in the Top 20 nationally in blocks per set (2.0, 12th), assists per set (10.19, 19th) and hitting percentage (.260, 18th) after the first week of competition.
- Freshman outside hitter Shay Spadaro's .439 hitting percentage is good for 11th in the NCAA, while redshirt junior middle hitter Matthew Gentry stands at 16th nationally (.393).
- Junior setter Kohl Kutsch ranks 17th in blocks per set (1.0) and 18th in assists per set (8.81) so far this year.
- Freshman Zadyn Lebreche and sophomore transfer Asa Labreche trained with the USAV Beach National Team Development Program this fall and look to be impact additions to this year's team.
