Harrogate, Tn – The Lady Railsplitters were home this afternoon for their first home game of the new year. Carson-Newman took the 2023 rival game, 59-45. LMU is now 8-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
 
In the 1st quarter, Saquita Joyner scored first for LMU with a driving layup. Saquita Joyner had 8 more points put up throughout the quarter. Geovana Rios and Lauren Flowers, both put up 2 on layups. Jordan Maney put up 5 points towards the end of the quarter. Lincoln Memorial had 9 rebounds. In the 2nd quarter, Alexa Smiddy and Jordan Maney, both had a 3-pointer. Saquita Joyner made a layup for 2 points. There were 5 rebounds by Geovana Rios (2), Chloe Savage (2), and Saquita Joyner.
 
In the 3rd quarter, Alexa Smiddy had a layup for 2 points. The team made 6 rebounds and Kadija Conteh had 4 of them. In the 4th quarter, Alexa Smiddy put up 12 points, Saquita Joyner put up 2 points, and Chloe Savage put up 2 points. LMU had 11 rebounds in this quarter.
 
The Lady Railsplitters fell to the Carson-Newman Eagles this Saturday afternoon, 45-59. Lincoln Memorial will be back in action Monday, January 9, 2023, on the road at Warren Wilson in North Carolina at 2 pm.
