Set 1: Newberry 25-22
The first set started with LMU having the lead for most of the set. Moehring and Kesler had kills and a service ace by Pickett closed the gap to one point. The Lady Railsplitters had the lead at 19-13 on a kill by
Abigail Kesler. Newberry would go on a four-point run to get it close, 19-17 and catch LMU at 21-21, on a couple Splitter attack errors. Newberry would take four of the next five points for the win.
Set 2: Newberry 25-22
The second set started with LMU getting behind, 2-6. LMU would rally and take a 10-7 lead on a Wolves error. Both teams would trade points up to 17-17, when Newberry would pull away with four points until a Moehring kill ended the streak. LMU could not muster up enough for a comeback and would fall, 25-22.
Set 3: LMU 25-21
After the intermission, LMU started the set with a service error. After giving up a couple of more points, LMU got back on track and caught the Wolves at 6-6. LMU would struggle to keep up with Newberry and, eventually, fall back, 19-14. LMU would catch fire and rally back scoring five points for a tie at 19. LMU would lose the next two points but then score the next six for the win, 25-21.
Set 4: LMU 25-22
The fourth set proved to be a good test for the Lady Railsplitters. The match started out fairly even while trading points and having several ties up to the end of the match, 23-22. LMU had a kill by Kesler and an attack error by Newberry to close out the set, 25-22.
Set 5: Newberry 15-10
The fifth set ended up being a challenge of consistency. The set was tied at 7-7 when Newberry started pulling away with three points before an attack error gave the ball back to LMU. The Wolves would score the next three points before being stopped by a Moehring kill, 13-9. Newberry would score two of the next three to close out the match, 3-2
