Gaffney, SC -- The Lincoln Memorial field hockey team took to Gaffney, SC on Tuesday seeking the first win of the season and the second win in the history of the young program. It'll have to come another day. The Limestone Saints downed the Railsplitters 7-0.
The game was quiet throughout the majority of its duration, with only two goals scored in the first half of Tuesday's match.
Josefina Golppi scored the game's first two goals; one in the first quarter and one in the second. She was assisted by Zoe Bergmann on the second goal.The game remained 2-0 until the Saints' offense broke open for five goals in the final frame. Bergmann added two goals in the fourth quarter, aided with an assist from Golppi on her second goal. Ashley Gambino added a goal in the fourth, assisted by Bergmann.
Kiyomi Nettles and
Falicitas Herrero Ma also eached added one goal in the fourth period, elevating Limestone to a 7-0 victory.

Ana Carney tallied 11 saves in the match, bringing her season total to a nation-leading 158.
The Railsplitters will be back on the familiar field Saturday, playing host to the Wingate Bulldogs.The game is slated to begin at 11:00 AM in Harrogate.
