Harrogate, TN -- Three days after falling to Coker at home on a late-game goal, the Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team was back at home on Tuesday, looking to get back into the win column against conference foe Mars Hill.
The Railsplitters controlled the game from start to finish.
Kriton Kiousis was the first Railsplitter on the board, netting a goal on an assist from
Daniel Burko in the 21st minute of the match, giving Lincoln Memorial a 1-0 lead. Not to be outdone, South Atlantic Conference goals leader
Daniel Burko connected on his first goal of the match on the assist from
Peter Majer in the 51st minute, giving the Railsplitters a 2-0 victory in the second half. Burko wasn't finished. In the 59th minute,
Botond Skulka found Burko on the assist, and Burko took care of the rest, netting his second and final goal of the game, giving Lincoln Memorial its final goal of the game.Goalkeeper Daniel Miklosi was a brick wall, allowing zero goals with six saves.
With the victory, Lincoln Memorial moved to 6-2-2 on the season with a 2-2-1 mark in conference play.
The Railsplitters will be back in action on Saturday on the road against Catawba. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM in Salisbury, NC.
