Harrogate, TN- The Lady Railsplitters drew the six seed for the upcoming SAC Women's Soccer Tournament and will travel to Wingate, NC on Saturday, November 4th, to take on the #3 Wingate Lady Bulldogs in their opening round match. The game is set to take place at the Wingate University Soccer Complex with a 1 PM start.Â
Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 3-0 win against Emory & Henry in their last regular season game. LMU would spread the wealth to get the win, just as they have all season. Relying on goalkeeper
Bente Latenstein (70 saves, 0.805 SV%), midfielder
Carla Wilson (three goals, two assists), and captain
Katherine Browning, the Lady Railsplitters will look to improve on their first winning season since 2020.Â
The Lady Bulldogs completed their regular season with a 2-0 win over Coker on Wednesday. Caroline Peters and Sascha Larsen will be two scoring threats to watch, each with seven goals on the season alongside goalkeeper Katrine Thisgaard who has only averaged allowing 0.54 goals per game on a 0.810 save percentage.
Assistant Coach Kaitlyn Jones added this ahead of Saturday's match: "We are very pleased that we ticked off a box that was one of our team goals- making the conference tournament. It's an opportunity you can't take for granted. The team has been working hard on the field and we look forward to having another day to play together and hope to prolong our season a bit more!"
The SAC Quarterfinal matchup will highlight the 23rd time the programs have met. This includes the matchup played earlier this season at Wingate, where the Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Railsplitters on a weekend matchup. The game will be available to follow through Live Stats and can be streamed using FloSports.Â
