GAME DAY - Women's Basketball opens at SAC/CC Crossover

November 10-11, 2023

Bristol, TN - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters are traveling to Bristol, TN to compete in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge on Friday, the 10th. This is the Lady Railsplitter's opening weekend for the 2023-24 basketball season. The SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge will take place November 10th and 11th: the Lady Railsplitter basketball will be taking on Converse and King from Conference Carolinas.

Game 1: Converse - November 10, 2023 @ 5pm
Game 2: King - November 11, 2023 @ 4pm
 
Lincoln Memorial has 6 previous matchups with Converse and 18 previous matchups with King. Their record against Converse is (7-0) and against King is (13-5).
 
LMU was picked to finish 6th in the SAC Preseason Poll. 
 
Who to look for:
#12 Sophomore Guard Alexa Smiddy was selected to the 2nd Team All-Conference. From last season, Smiddy had made 152 made field goals (473 points) including 78 3-pointers and 91 free throws, 80 assists, 49 steals, and 104 rebounds. 

#20 Grad Student Guard Lauren Flowers was selected to the 3rd Team All-Conference.  Flowers scored 261 points averaging 9.3 points per game and had 94 rebounds last season. 
 

Scouting Converse: Converse is ranked 12th (14 teams) in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll.  The Conference chose three players to watch in their polls:  
Jordan Brown, a senior guard, had 83 2-point baskets, 58 free throws, and 163 rebounds from last season.

Zariyah Washington, a junior guard, scored 261 points, gave out 135 assists, and had 97 rebounds from last season.

Sydney Wilson, a grad center, had 357 points, 45 free throws, and 187 rebounds last season.
 

Scouting King: King was voted 10th in the Conference Carolinas preseason polls.  The three players to watch are:
Le'Aije Ellington, sophomore guard, had 260 including 53 free throws and 66 rebounds from last season.

Brianna Dunbar, a senior guard, had 109 points including 36 free throws, and 18 rebounds from last season.  The year prior, Dunbar had 358 points and 85 rebounds.

Ashley Allen, a junior guard/forward, had 59 baskets (151 points) shooting 41.8%, and 196 rebounds from last season.
 

From last year, LMU's scoring defense was nationally ranked 41st (58.5 per game) and the scoring offense was ranked 147th (65.2).
