Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team will play its first game at home on Friday against No.8 UNC-Pembroke. So far this season, the Railsplitters has amassed a record of 1-1, with both games being played in the D2CCA Tip Off Classic in Lubbock Texas. Lincoln Memorial fell in the first game to hosting Lubbock Christian before bouncing back with an emphatic win over the University of Illinois-Springfield.
This is the third meeting all time between the Railsplitters and Braves. The first meeting favored LMU 64-52 on UNC-Pembroke's home court. The Last meeting took place in March of 2013 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Lincoln Memorial's Lorenza Ross connected on a jump shot with 4.3 seconds remaining to lift the Railsplitters past the Braves.
Lincoln Memorial currently holds the nation's longest home winning streak across all divisions, going 60 games unblemished at home. The Railsplitters are only 20 games away from tying the all time record of 80, set by Jefferson from 1991-1995. The last loss at home for Lincoln Memorial took place in March of 2019, when the Railsplitters fell to Wingate 80-78 in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament.
Friday's home match up will also be Kid's Night, where children will have free admittance to the game. Adults will also pay half price with the donation of two canned goods. Tip off is slated for 7:00pm in B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena in Harrogate.
