Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball is set to open conference play on Saturday, playing host to the Newberry Wolves. The Railsplitters will put their NCAA-leading 62-game home winning streak on the line against the Wolves. Lincoln Memorial is coming off of its second home win of the season, a 75-70 victory over Winston-Salem State on Wednesday. During the contest with the Rams, Forward Martez Brown set a new career-high in rebounding, hauling in 20 boards. It is one of many personal-bests set by individual players this season. Earlier in the year, guard Me'Kell Burries set a new career-high in points scored with 37 points as he scorched the nets with nine three pointers during the game, which was also a new career-high. Matthew Sells set a new career-high for points scored during the same game, tallying 28 points with an astonishing eight three pointers of his own.

Lincoln Memorial remains ranked in the NABC (#22) and D2CSC (#15) Top 25 with a record of 5-2. The Railsplitters have played three ranked teams so far on the season, all were in succession. Saturday's match up against the Wolves will be the 32nd meeting in the series' history, with Lincoln Memorial holding a 25-7 advantage. The last loss for the Railsplitters against Newberry came in February of 2021, on the road. Before then, the Wolves hadn't won a match up with Lincoln Memorial since December of 2016. The last three match ups have favored the Railsplitters 82-64, 74-61, and 73-62.

Saturday's game is set to tip at 4:00pm, following the women's game, which begins at 2:00pm. Kids 12 and under get into the game free. Seniors, veterans, and active military get in half-price. The game will also be "Ugly Sweater" night. Attendees are encourages to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater to the game.
