@LMU_WBB Falls in Rival Game With Carson-Newman

Jefferson City, TN – The Lady Railsplitters took on the Carson-Newman Eagles this evening for the 2nd game of the 2022/23 season rivalry. Lincoln Memorial was battling hard against the Eagles but came up just a little short to fall to the Eagles 67-58. The Railsplitters are now 13-8 overall and 6-6 in conference.
 
In quarter 1, Alexa Smiddy started her team off with a 3-pointer. Alexa Smiddy additionally put up another 6 points this quarter. Lauren Flowers put up 5 points on a 3-pointer and a layup in the paint. Lincoln Memorial had 9 rebounds, 2 by Geovana Rios and 2 by Saquita Joyner. In quarter 2, Alexa Smiddy kicked things off with a made free throw. Alexa Smiddy put up an additional 7 points from a 3-pointer, 2 free throws, and a layup. Saquita Joyner had a layup for 2 points and Lauren Flowers had a made free throw. LMU had recorded 10 rebounds in the 2nd quarter.
 
In the 3rd quarter, Jordan Maney started things off with a layup in the paint. Jordan Maney put up an additional 3 points from a free throw and a layup. Alexa Smiddy put up 6 points off of 4 free throws and a layup in the paint. Kadija Conteh put up 4 points from 2 layups. Lincoln Memorial had 7 rebounds. Alexa Smiddy had a layup in the paint to start off the 4th quarter. Alexa Smiddy put up an additional 9 points, from 2 3-pointers and 3 free throws. Saquita Joyner put up 4 points off of 2 free throws and a layup. Lauren Flowers had a 3-pointer. LMU had recorded 6 rebounds in the last quarter.
 
 
The Lady Railsplitters fell to the Carson-Newman Eagles 58-67, this Wednesday evening in Jefferson City. Lincoln Memorial will be back in action this Saturday, February 4, 2023, on the road at Wingate for another SAC conference game at 2:00 pm.
