The Railsplitters took on the Lees-McRae Bobcats early in the afternoon for their first game of the season and came out victorious with a score of 22-7.

Lees-McRae got on the board first at 11:57. 41 seconds later,
Gavin Reid answered with a goal and an assist by
Rhodes Conroy.  Lees-McRae then got another goal making it 2-1.  A few minutes later, the Railsplitters struck again with goals from
Francis O'Hara and
Aiden Smith. Â
Max Mora then got on the stat sheet with a goal of his own, making it the first of his career. Â
Rhodes Conroy and
Michael Rogers added two more to make the score 6-2 at the end of the quarter. Â

Gavin Reid quickly scored 30 seconds in the second quarter with the assist from
Hunter Kot.  Lees-McRae continued to try and bring the score in close, getting another goal at 13:25, making it 7-3. Â
Kevin Jendrasik got his first goal of the season just a minute later.  Lees-McRae served a man-down penalty, giving Railsplitters an advantage that they quickly wasted no time with as
Hunter Kot got a goal making the score 9-3. Â
Haden Berry was dominant in the faceoff, continuing to give the Railsplitters an advantage on their offensive end.  Berry picked up a groundball and did not look back, getting his first goal. Â

At this point, the Railsplitters hit the gas and did not lead up.  The half ended with a score of 13-3 with goals from
Gavin Reid,
Gabe Smith, and
Kevin Jendrasik. Â

Lees-McRae didn't score again until the fourth quarter, but it was too late for them to try and catch up. Â
Cayden McClure,
Daniel Pearl, and
Dane Knight-Turcan contributed to getting their first goals of the season. Making the final score 22-7

The Railsplitters will be on the road next Saturday as they travel to Missouri to take on Maryville University.
