@LMUWLAX Defeats Young Harris in Overtime

Young Harris, Ga – The Lady Railsplitters faced Young Harris College today on the road for a non-conference matchup. Lincoln Memorial took the victory over the Mountain Lions, advancing them to 4-5 overall on the season.
 
 
In the first period, Kelly Csenar right from the start scored a goal for LMU assisted by Sierra Landsman. Jamie Small assisted by Sierra Landsman and Ali Van Der Ziel scored 2 more goals, giving LMU a 3-0 lead. Josie Tinnerello assisted by Ali Van Der Ziel (2x), Ana Carney, and Jaedyn Ryba scored 4 more goals before the end of the period. In the 2nd period, Ali Van Der Ziel assisted by Kelly Csenar for the 9th goal for LMU. Sophia Gardea assisted by Camdyn Bullard scored shortly after. Ali Van Der Ziel and Breanna Booth both scored back to back free position shots. Ryann Doyle closed out the half with a goal giving her team a 13-7 lead over the Mountain Lions.
 
After the half, Sophia Gardea came up with the draw control. Ana Carney scored a goal off a free position shot. Camdyn Bullard assisted by Breanna Booth added another goal. Keegan Gillman picked up a groundball and made a good clear attempt down the field for Josie Tinnerello to score a goal to close out the 3rd period. In the 4th period, Young Harris started to make a comeback scoring 7 goals. Haleigh Barnett assisted by Breanna Booth scored a goal tying the score up and sending the game into overtime. In overtime, Jaedyn Ryba came up with the draw control and LMU took a timeout after a foul on Young Harris. Ali Van Der Ziel came out firing, putting one past the goalie to win the game for LMU.
 
The Lady Railsplitters defeated the Mountain Lions 18-17 in overtime. Lincoln Memorial will be back in action Wednesday, March 18, 2023 home against Wingate at 1 pm.
