The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team earned the No. 1 seed in the Independent Volleyball Association Tournament to be played this Friday and Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.

The Railsplitters, who ended the regular season 20-4 including 7-0 against IVA opponents, will play the winner of No. 4 seed Tusculum and No. 5 seed Maryville on Friday in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. A potential championship match would be on Saturday at 5 p.m. All matches will be played at Queens' Levine Center.

Lincoln Memorial's regular season was highlighted by its victory at No. 7 UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 6, the team's highest ranked win in program history. The Railsplitters are riding a 17-match winning streak into the postseason.

The men's volleyball team is ranked in the Top 10 nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.172, second), aces per set (1.80, fifth), assists per set (11.91, sixth) and kills per set (12.49, ninth). Middle hitter
Matthew Gentry is third in the country in hitting percentage (.481).
