Women's Lax Slays the Lions

Harrogate, TN – The Lady Railsplitters were home today taking on the Mars Hill Lions. Going into this SAC matchup, Lincoln Memorial was 6-7 overall and 2-4 in conference. LMU defeated the Lions, moving to 7-7 overall and 3-4 in conference.
 
In period 1, Jaedyn Ryba came up with the first draw control of the game and moved it down in to the Lions territory, assisting Kelly Csenar for the first goal of the game. Samantha Billingsley picked up a groundball after a turnover and cleared it for Ali Van Der Ziel to assist Jaedyn Ryba with a goal. Ryann Doyle scored a goal assisted by Ali Van Der Ziel. Delany Duck caused a turnover and led to Breanna Booth scoring a goal assisted by Sophia Gardea. Ali Van Der Ziel closed out the 1st period with a goal. In period 2, Josie Tinnerello scored her first goal of the game assisted by Ali Van Der Ziel. Then, Kelly Csenar closed out the half with a goal assisted by Ali Van Der Ziel.
 
Going into the 2nd half, Lincoln Memorial led 7-2. Kelly Csenar caused a turnover and ran it down into Lions territory to score another goal. Lincoln Memorial had a free position attempt and pulled it back to set up Josie Tinnerello with a shot to score a goal assisted by Jaedyn Ryba. Ali Van Der Ziel followed it up with another goal. After a draw control from Ryann Doyle and a groundball pickup by Samantha Billingsley, Jaedyn Ryba scored assisted by Deadre Jackson. Chandler Bell closed the period with a goal assisted by Ali Van Der Ziel. In the last period, Jaedyn Ryba came up with the draw control and Jamie Small had a groundball pickup. Jaedyn Ryba then took a free position shot scoring again for Lincoln Memorial. Ali Van Der Ziel scored 2 goals, both assisted by Chandler Bell. Chandler also assisted Josie Tinnerello in scoring another goal.
 
Lincoln Memorial defeated Mars Hill 16-3. The Lady Railsplitters will be back in action next Saturday April 15, 2023, away at Catawba at 4 pm.
