Men's Volleyball Wins IVA Tournament with Sweep of Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team took home the Independent Volleyball Association Tournament championship with a sweep over No. 2 seed Queens (25-20, 25-21, 25-15) on Saturday evening at the Levine Center. The win improved the No. 1 seed Railsplitters to 22-4 on the year with a 19-match winning streak.

Set 1: Lincoln Memorial 25-20
An early 8-1 scoring run from the visitors turned a 5-3 deficit into an 11-6 advantage, and the Railsplitter would lead by at least three points the rest of the way, clinching the set on a Will Eiken kill. Eiken, Cole Campisano, Matthew Gentry and Justin Sharfenaker had at least three kills each in the first frame.

Set 2: Lincoln Memorial 25-21
Lincoln Memorial steadily built the lead to as high as seven points at 16-9 and would cruise to another set win, clinching it on a kill by Shay Spadaro. Campisano's four terminations led the Railsplitter attack in the second set.

Set 3: Lincoln Memorial 25-15
The Railsplitters had a pair of 4-0 scoring rallies midway through the set before clinching the match on a Campisano kill. Campisano and Sharfenaker paced the Lincoln Memorial offense with four kills in the final frame.
