WLAX Falls to No.2 Seed Newberry in SAC Semifinals

Matthews, NC – The Lady Railsplitters were on the road in North Carolina taking on the No. 2 seed, Newberry Wolves in the Sac Tournament Semifinals. LMU lost to the Wolves 11-18.
 
In period 1, Ali Van Der Ziel scored LMU's first goal of the game. Kelly Csenar gained draw control and allowed Ana Carney to take back to back shots on goal. Ryann Doyle assisted by Josie Tinnerello and Ali Van Der Ziel scored back to back goals to close out the 1st period. In the 2nd period, Deadre Jackson came up with the first draw control. Jaedyn Ryba scored off a free position shot.
 
After the half, Newberry was in the lead 12-4 over LMU. Jaedyn Ryba and Josie Tinnerello assisted by Ali Van Der Ziel had back to back goals. LMU had an opportunity while being man up on Newberry and Ali Van Der Ziel assisted by Ryann Doyle took advantage scoring a goal. In the 4th period, Ali Van Der Ziel started things off with an unassisted goal. Chandler Bell scored an unassisted goal. Ali Van Der Ziel scored 2 more goals unassisted and one on a free position shot before the period came to an end.
 
Lincoln Memorial fell to the No. 2 Wolves 11-18. This Semifinal game concludes the 2023 season for the Lady Railsplitters.
