Men's Volleyball Takes Tight Battle at Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE , N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team won at Mount Olive in four sets (25-27, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23) on Friday night at Kornegay Arena. The win was the Railsplitters' 15th in a row and improved them to 19-4 while dropping the Trojans to 9-16.

Set 1: Mount Olive 27-25
Down 22-17, the visiting Railsplitters went on a 7-1 run to get to a set point leading 24-23, but the hosts took 4 of the final 5 points to clinch the opening game. Cole Campisano led Lincoln Memorial with seven kills in the first frame.

Set 2: Lincoln Memorial 25-22
Tied at 15-15, the visitors went on a 7-2 rally to create separation at 22-17, and they would cruise to the win from there, clinching the frame on a Will Eiken termination. Campisano again paced the Railsplitters, putting down six kills in the second set.

Set 3: Lincoln Memorial 25-22
Campisano went to town with the Railsplitters leading 20-19, taking 3 of the next 4 points on kills, and Eiken again put the exclamation point on the set with a termination that put Lincoln Memorial up 2-1 overall. Campisano and Johan Negron had five kills each in the third frame.

Set 4: Lincoln Memorial 25-23
The Trojans used a late 4-0 run to make their deficit just one at 23-22, but Negron had kills on 2 of the next 3 points to clinch the set and match for Lincoln Memorial. Campisano went for five kills in the fourth frame.
