Box Score
Raleigh, NC- The Lincoln Memorial Women's Soccer team (4-1) took down Shaw University (4-2) today in a 1-0 victory on the road.
The first half would begin and both teams would have chances but couldn't connect for a score. As the end of the period approached,
Katherine Browning would play a ball over the back line. This would give
Alicia Bevins the opportunity to put one in the back of the net for the first and only score of the game.Â
The second period would stay quiet despite opportunities for both teams. Solid Lady Railsplitter defense, including five saves from goalkeeper
Isabelle Zukaitis, would keep the clean slate and let LMU pull out the win.
Lincoln Memorial (4-1) will be back in action on Saturday, September 16th, in Anderson, SC, to take on the Lady Trojans of Anderson University (2-2). The SAC opener is slated for a 4 PM start.Â
