Anderson, SC -- The 22nd ranked Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team fell for this first time this season on the road against Anderson Saturday night. The Trojans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and never looked back en route to a 3-1 victory.
In the 16th minute, Juan Jose Alvarez scored the first goal of the game with an assist from Elian Munoz. Mariano Carpena scored the second goal of the half for Anderson in the 21st minute, again on the assist from Munoz. After play resumed in the second half, Julian Caro Sepulveda added the Trojans' third consecutive goal of the game on a penalty kick. The Railsplitters managed a goal in thre 71st minute as
Peter Majer found the back of the net on the assist from
Botond Skulka, bringing the game to its final score; 3-1.
The loss was Lincoln Memorial's first of the season, as the Railsplitters moved to 4-1-1 on the season. LMU will hit the field September 23rd as it plays host to Newberry in a conference match up.
