Davidson, NC - The Lincoln Memorial field hockey team was on the road at Belmont Abbey Saturday afternoon for its 11th game of the season. The Railsplitters are still seeking that elusive first win of the season after falling to Belmont Abbey 0-3.
Neither team was able to get anything going offensively in the first quarter. However, the Crusaders were able to get on the board in the second with a goal from
Casey Etter on the assist from Cuinn Deely, taking a 1-0 lead. The score would remain 1-0 until after the half when Belmont Abbey extended its lead to 2-0 with a goal from Isabella Grasso.Again, it was the only goal scored of the period. In the final frame, the Crusaders added one final goal with a shot from Jillian Cain on the assist from Etter. It was the final goal of the game, giving Belmont Abbey a 3-0 lead.
With the loss, the Railsplitters moved to 0-11 on the season. They'll be back in action at Limestone on October 3rd with the game slated to begin at 6 PM.
