Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team hosted the Coker Cobras Saturday in a conference match up. Fresh off a 1-0 victory over Tusculum, the Railsplitters were looking to gather momentum. However, the Cobras had other plans. The game was knotted a 1-1 for the majority of the contest until a late game penalty go-ahead goal gave Coker a 2-1 victory.
The Cobras got on the board first when
Jacques Fokam-Sandeu scored on an unassisted goal in the 15th minute, giving Coker a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Arkin Ulusoy tied the game with a goal on an assist from Botond Skulka. The game was quiet until the 82nd minute when Matt Tricker scored a pentaly goal, giving Coker the lead, and inevitbaly the victory.Â
The Railsplitters will be back in action against Mars Hill on October 3rd on the road. Kickoff is slated for 4 PM. With the loss, Lincoln Memorial moved to 5-2-2 on the season.
