Men's basketball travels to Catawba Saturday

Harrogate, TN - Following a sizable conference victory at home over UVA-Wise on Wednesday night, the Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team takes to the road for a conference match up with Catawba. The Railsplitters bolster a 10-5 overall record with a 4-2 mark in conference play, and are coming off of a 94-73 victory over the Cavaliers. The Indians have amassed a record of 7-2 on the season with a 5-1 mark in SAC play. The lone conference loss for Catawba came in its last game, a 93-90 loss to Wingate in overtime.

The Indians have three players averaging double figure scoring on the season, led by Javeon Jones, who averages 14.2 points-per-game and 5.2 rebounds-per-game. He is followed in scoring by Kris Robinson with 12.8 points-per-game. DeAngelo Epps is the third Catawba player to average double figures with 12.4 points-per-game. He also averages 4.6 rebounds-per-game. Justin Banks is the team's leading rebounder, hauling in 5.9 rebounds-per-game to go along with 9.6 points-per-game. As a team, Catawba averages 87.4 points-per-game on 44.5% shooting from the floor with a 31.8% mark from long range and a 74.6% mark from the line. The Indians average 41.1 rebounds and 15.7 assists-per-game.

The Railsplitters have five players averaging double figure scoring on the season, led by Me'Kell Burries, who averages 16 points-per-game and 3 rebounds-per-game. He is followed in scoring by Chase Rankin with 14.2 points-per-game. Rankin also averages 5.2 assists-per-game and 4.8 rebounds-per-game. Both Rankin and Burries are shooting 41.5% from long range on the season. Freshman Wes Enis has made an immediate impact since joining the team in early January, averaging 14 points and 2.5 rebounds-per-game. Martez Brown has dominated the glass all season, leading the NCAA in rebounding. He has also tallied nine double-doubles on the season, which is in the top five nationally. Brown is the only player in the SAC currently averaging a double-double each game with 12.5 points-per-game and an astounding 13.9 rebounds-per-game. Sharpshooter Matthew Sells is averaging 10.3 points-per-game on the season, connecting on nearly 40% of his shots from beyond the arc. As a team, Lincoln Memorial is averaging 83.7 points-per-game on 49% shooting from the floor with a 38% mark from long range and a 71% clip from the stripe. The Railsplitters average 39.5 rebounds and 17.7 assists-per-game.

Tip-off for the Railsplitters and Indians is slated for 4:00 PM on Saturday.
