Harrogate, TN - With mother nature's icy clutches griping the region, the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters will attempt to heat things up against Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday at home. Ice and cold have proven to be of little worry for Lincoln Memorial, due to the scorching nature of its offense as of late. In their last three games, the Railsplitters have torched the nets for 90+ points, including a jaw-dropping performance against Mars Hill on Wednesday in which Lincoln Memorial connected on 13-of-21 attempts from long range. The Railsplitters enter the game with a 12-5 overall record, including a 6-2 mark in conference play. For the Bears, they enter the game with a 9-7 overall record and a 4-4 mark in conference.
As previously mentioned, the Railsplitters have been playing lights-out offensively as of late, scoring over 90 points in three consecutive games. On the season, Lincoln Memorial is averaging 85.1 points per game and is outscoring its opposition by an average of 8.5 points per game. Martez Brown, who is the only player in the SAC averaging a double-double on the season. He is fourth nationally in double-doubles on the season, and fourth in the nation in field goal percentage as well.
Chase Rankin continues to play some of the most well-rounded basketball in the conference, averaging 14.6 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and 5.2 assists per game. Freshman
Wes Enis has made an immediate and significant impact since joining the team in early January. Enis is leading the team in scoring since his arrival, averaging 17.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Me'Kell Burries has been the team's leading scorer all season, averaging 17 points per game, shooting an
absurd 50% from the floor on the season.
Lenoir-Rhyne averages 74.4 points per game, typically outscoring opponents by a narrow 2.1 points per game. Led by Nas Tyson, the Bears have five players averaging double figures. Tyson averages 14.4 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game. Tay Smith averages 13.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Chase Mebane averages 12.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game to lead the team in rebounding. Jaquias Franklin averages 10.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Jaheim Taylor is Lenoir-Rhyne's last player averaging double figure scoring, averaging 10 points and 2 rebounds per game.
