Men's basketball seeking seventh win in a row, looking to sweep Carson-Newman in regular season

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is seeking its seventh win in a row. The Railsplitters' last loss came on Jan. 6 at the hands of the Coker Cobras. On the season, Lincoln Memorial has tallied a 15-5 overall record with a 9-2 mark in conference play, winners of six straight games. For Carson-Newman, the Eagles enter the contest with a 15-4 overall record, including an 8-3 mark in SAC play. When the two teams met to start the calander year, Lincoln Memorial decimated Carson-Newman at home, limiting them to a season low 64 points as a team. It is still the lowest point total allowed against Carson-Newman on the season.

Me'Kell Burries leads the Railsplitters in scoring, averaging 18 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds per game. Freshman Wes Enis has exploded onto the college basketball scene since joining the team in early January as an early enrollee, and is the team's second leading scorer through nine games, averaging 15.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Chase Rankin is one of the most well-rounded players in the country, as well as the SAC, and is currently averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. Martez Brown is the nation's leading rebounder by a substantial margin. The nation's second leading rebounder (Sam Schultz, Northern Michigan) trails Brown by a whopping 76 rebounds with one more game played on the season. Brown is the only player in the SAC averaging a double-double with 12.8 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. His 13 double-doubles on the season lead the nation as well.
