Harrogate, TN - The long wait is over. The Lincoln Memorial field hockey team tallied its first home win in program history on Sunday against Maryville University out of Missouri. It was the most goals scored by the Railsplitters in a game since Sept. of 2023 which resulted in a overtime loss against Kenyon. The win marks the first at home in program history in 18 games and the second win overall in program history. Lincoln Memorial has been very close to winning multiple games this season with seven games decided by one goal.
Sunday's game was a defensive slug-fest through the first half, with each team holding the other scoreless to the halftime horn. However, the third quarter belonged solely to Lincoln Memorial. 
Haley White tallied the game's first goal in the third quarter with an assist from 
Abagayle Auvil. The Railsplitters weren't done, extending their lead to 2-0 with another goal from 
Frieda Mauer, assisted by 
Tannah Duncan.
The two teams battled for the remainder of the game. The Saints pulled their goalkeeper with five minutes remaining in the game. There were multiple opportunities for Maryville's offense to capitalize on penalty corners, but Lincoln Memorial's defense held strong. It was the first shutout victory in program history.
With the victory, Lincoln Memorial improved to 1-9 on the season with an 0-9 mark in conference play.
