Harrogate, TN- The LMU Women's Volleyball team defeated the Cavaliers of UVA Wise on Tuesday in four sets: 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24.
The Cavaliers would come out flat in the first set as the Splitters would take advantage, hitting .375 in the frame to take the early lead. The momentum would slow, the second set going back-and-forth until LMU would string a small run together to take the two set lead. UVA Wise would feature their best attack percentage on the night in the third gaining the lead and pushing the contest to a fourth. The final set would be a close one, featuring 18 ties and 10 lead changes until Lincoln Memorial, led by two Josibeth Capellan kills, would find a way to close out the match.Â
Kristen Moehring would post 18 kills on the night, the team leader in that category, as
Abigail Kesler would add 11 of her own.
Agata Bogdanska would have an impressive performance, tallying 10 kills on a .261 attack percentage while also earning seven block assists and one solo block.
Lauren Pickett would total 42 assists on the evening, also posting two service aces. As a team, LMU would hit .206 in the contest while also totaling 13 team blocks.Â
LMU moves to 16-8 on the season, 10-7 in conference play. The Splitters will return to Mary Mars Gymnasium on Friday, November 15th, for Senior Day and the last game of the regular season, first serve set for 6 PM.Â
