Matthews, NC - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team falls to the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in the South Atlantic Conference Championship Game.
Lincoln Memorial put themselves on the scoreboard first in the 20th minute when
Hannah Stafford would score off an assist from
Ryan Branson. The Lady Railsplitters would keep the lead going into halftime.
Lenoir-Rhyne would equalize the score in the 60th minute when Evan O'Leary would score. O'Leary would give the Bears the lead in the 75th minute, unassited. In the 82nd minute, Vivien Becker Peralt would score to extend their lead with O'Leary getting the assist.
Despite LMU's second half efforts to gain the lead back, Lenoir Rhyne would secure the win 3-1.
Lincoln Memorial would be named the Women's Soccer SAC Tournament Runner Up.
Bente Latenstein,
Donna Van Der Zalm, and
Ryan Branson would be named All-Tournament team.
They will now await their NCAA fate to the NCAA National Tournamnent. The Division II Women's Soccer Selection Announcement is Monday, November 18 at 7 PM.
