LMU Women's Volleyball Falls to Anderson in SAC Quarterfinals

Anderson, SC- The Lincoln Memorial Women's Volleyball team fell in the SAC Quarterfinals to Anderson tonight: 25-20, 17-25, 18-25, 20-25.

The first set would feature both sides going on small runs to keep it close. Lincoln Memorial would be the one to go on a run late, earning five straight points to gain the early lead. Anderson would regain a rhythm in the second, hitting .533 to make it hard on the Splitters and evening up the tally. Despite trying to slow the momentum, LMU would struggle to outhit a Trojan team, only tallying 12 kills to Anderson's 18. The fourth would go similar to the first, with both teams stringing together several points at a time to keep a back-and-forth score. This time it would be Anderson to finish out the set, taking the contest and advancing to the semifinals. 

Kristen Moehring finishes her final game as a Splitter with 17 kills. Her total career tally now sits at sixth place in program history, with 1,150 recorded. Abigail Kesler would add to her career total also, totaling 11 on the evening on a .250 attack percentage. Katherine Bedel would post seven kills and three total blocks to wrap up her own time in the blue and gray. Joining them in her last game for LMU would be Agata Bogdanska, whose stat line would include three kills, and seven total blocks in the contest. 

LMU wraps up their season at 17-9, 11-7 in conference play. The first under Head Coach John Cash would be a turnaround for the program, posting their best record since 2018. This also marks the team's first conference tournament appearance since 2019. The rest of the SAC Women's Volleyball Tournament will take place November 21st and 22nd in Rock Hill, SC.
