Mars Hill, NC - The Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team will travel to Mars Hill, NC to play in the quarterfinal match against Mars Hill Saturday evening.
This will be the 21st time that the two teams will meet, with their most recent match up being earlier this season, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.Â
The Railsplitters are going into the SAC Tournament with a 2 game win streak under their belt: a 1-0 shutout against #8 (previously #3) Limestone and a 4-1 victory over Emory & Henry. There were four different goal scorers their most recent match against Emory & Henry. In the first half, Tayjay Grant scored in the 13th minute off of a
Carlos Herrera assist and
Botond Skulka scored in the 40th minute with an assist given to
Axel Larsen. In the second half,
Hayden Pendergrass assisted
Lucas De Pedro in the 47th minute, and Guilherme Galvão scored in the 51st minute off of a
Leandro Dos Santos Haesler assist.Â
Skulka is leading the team in points with 9, while Galvão, Haesler, and
Ronan O'Mahony are all tied for 2nd with 6.Â
Mars Hill is coming off of a 2-2 draw against Limestone.Â
Kickoff for the quarterfinal game is set for 7:30 pm. If the Railsplitters win, they will advance to the semifinal game, in which they will face the winner of Limestone and Wingate. The semifinal match will be in Matthews, NC at 11 am.Â
