Men's basketball seeking seventh straight conference victory at home against Wingate on Saturday

Harrogate, TN - The 14th ranked Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is slated to be back at home on Saturday after downing Tusculum on Wednesday for its sixth consecutive conference victory of the season, moving into first place in the SAC men's basketball standings. The Railsplitters will play host to the Wingate Bulldogs, seeking their seventh consecutive conference victory of the season, looking to maintain their unblemished conference record.

Lincoln Memorial comes into the game with an 8-1 overall record and a perfect 6-0 record in conference play, resting atop the SAC men's basketball standings. Wingate enters the contest with a 4-4 overall record, posting a 4-3 mark in conference play. The Railsplitters are averaging 83.4 points-per-game, led by Wes Enis, who averages 17.7 points-per-game. Freshman Elyjah Freeman has exploded onto the scene this season, showcasing his athleticism in multiple ways. Freeman is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 15.3 points-per-game, and leads the team in rebounding with an average of 6.9 rebounds-per-game. His 71.4% field goal percentage is good for second in the conference. Lincoln Memorial's offense is extremely well-balanced with nearly five players averaging double figures. Freshman EJ Smith has been electric all season long, averaging 12.3 points and 3.4 assists-per-game. Smith only has nine turnovers on the season. Seasoned veteran Jordan Walters is the fourth leading scorer on the team, averaging 10 points-per-game, and is second on the team in rebounding with 5.9 rebounds-per-game. Osmar Garcia-Araujo is averaging right at double figures with 9.6 points-per-game and is hauling in an average of 3.8 boards a game.

The Railsplitters' defense is holding its opposition to 72.4 point-per-game, while limiting opposing offenses to 40% field goal percentage, including a 30% mark from long range. Inversely, Lincoln Memorial is connecting on an incredible 52% of its shots from the floor, including a solid 37% from long range on the season.
