Harrogate, TN - Coming off of a record setting performance against the Thomas More Lady Saints, the Lincoln Memorial Lady Splitters were back in action at home on Tuesday, playing host to the visiting Lee University Lady Flames.
The Lady Flames netted the game's first goal with 12:22 remaining in the first when Emma Bailey found the net on the assist from Maggie Luzier, taking a 1-0 lead. The Lady Splitters responded with back-to-back goals to take their first lead of the game at 2-1 with goals from
Breanna Booth (12:04) and
Amber Kirkpatrick (11:25). Lee responded with another goal via the Bailey Luzier connection, knotting the game at deuces, 2-2. The Lady Flames poured on four unanswered goals, spanning for the remainder of the first quarter and bleeding into the second, from Maggie Luzier (1:18, 0:10), Noelle Harrington (13:29) on an assist from Maggie Luzier, and Hannah Vecsey (11:43), racing out to a 6-2 lead. Lincoln Memorial responded with back-to-back goals from
Josie Tinnerello (9:40), assisted by Camryn Bullard, and
Chandler Bell (5:46), also assisted by Bullard, drawing the game back to within striking distance, 6-4.
The Lady Flames responded with a 3-0 run to take a 9-4 lead early in the third. With a man-advantage opportunity,
Ana Carney scored for the Lady Splitters unassisted, drawing the score back to 9-5 in favor of the Lady Flames. Lee scored the game's next six goals unanswered to take a sizable 14-5 lead before Tinnerello applied the metaphorical tourniquet with a goal at the 2:49 mark, assisted by Bell.
Jaedyn Ryba attempted to apply pressure as well, scoring on a man-advantage opportunity early in the fourth unassisted. The Lady Flames added another goal before Lincoln Memorial responded with back-to-back goals from Tinnerello, assisted by Bullard, and Bullard, assisted by Bell, bringing the game to 15-9. A long scoring drought from both sides saw the clock wind down as Lee added its final goal in the waning minutes of the game.
Jaiden Jaynes penciled her name into the score book with under one minute remaining, thanks to another assist from Bullard. At the final horn, the Lady Flames emerged victorious, 16-10, seeing the Lady Splitters fall to 1-2 on the season.
Lincoln Memorial will have its first road test of the young season, hitting the road for warmer temperatures in St. Augustine, FL, where the Lady Splitters are set to take on Flagler on Friday at 7:00 PM.
