Harrogate, TN - Five days after taking down 10th ranked Princeton, and four days after falling in a very hard-fought contest to Harvard, the Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team was back in action on its home court on Wednesday night, playing host to King University.
King battled hard in the first set, however, Lincoln Memorial took a 25-21 decision to take a 1-0 set lead. The Railsplitters cruised to 25-18 victories in both the second and third set to secure a three set sweep and match victory, improving to 8-3 on the season.
Lincoln Memorial dominated the box score with 40 kills, only six errors, and 63 total attempts, with a 54% hitting percentage.
Johan Negron led kills with nine. He was followed by
Ethan Morgan and
Shay Spadaro with eight kills each.
Eliel Salva Torres led aces with three, followed by
Kohl Kutsch with two, and Morgan with two. Salva Torress also led the team in blocks with eight, followed by Negron with three, and
Luigi Pacini with one. Kutsch dominated the assist column with 35, followed by Pacini with one. Kutsch also led the team in digs with six, followed by
Tate Colebaugh with five, and Negron with four.
The Railsplitters will be back in action at Tusculum on Feb. 20.
