Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial baseball team was back in action on Friday night following a hard-fought midweek loss to Lee on the road. It was back on the road again for the Railsplitters, this time traveling to Lander for a three game weekend series. Lincoln Memorial tallied a 6-3 win behind 13 hits with four doubles and a triple, improving to 4-0 on the season ahead of game two, which is slated for 1:00 PM.
In five appearances at the plate, 3rd basemen
Kasten Harvey led the Railsplitters with three hits and three RBI on a pair of doubles. He was followed by catcher
Sam Mast with three hits in five appearances with one RBI and a pair of doubles.
Chris Hall drove in one run on a triple with two hits total for the game. DJ Alexander Jr. added two hits.
Carson Boles,
Joey LaMattina, and
Cameron Bowen added one hit each.
Colin Murphy got the start from the bump, going for 5.0 IP with four hits, four walks, and five strikeouts, giving up one home run with two runs and two earned runs.
Will Shelton pitched in relief, going for 3.0 IP with one run, one hit, two walks, and two strikeouts. David Ellison was brought in to close, pitching the final inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs, forcing two fly-outs and a ground-out.
The Railsplitters will faceoff against the Bearcats in game two and three on Saturday with game two slated for 1:00 PM and game three following 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.
