Men's basketball to take on Carson-Newman in SAC semifinals

Harrogate, TN - After surviving a scary upset attempt in the opening round of the SAC Tournament against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears, the Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is set to take on Carson-Newman in the semifinals. After wrapping up the regular season against Limestone last Saturday at home, the Railsplitters claimed the top seed in the conference tournament. Carson-Newman took the four-seed and defeated Tusculum to advance to the semifinals, for a third match up with Lincoln Memorial.

The SAC semifinal game will be played today, March 7, in Rock Hill, SC with tip-off slated for 5:00 PM. In their two match ups this season, the Railsplitters and Eagles split the regular season. Lincoln Memorial took a 19-point decision at home before dropping a nine point game on the road to the Eagles. Ahead of the conference tournament, Lincoln Memorial saw four players named to the All-Conference teams. Martez Brown and Chase Rankin were named to the All-SAC first team, with teammates Me'Kell Burries and Wes Enis being named to the All-SAC third team. Enis was also named to the All-Freshman team, and was named conference Freshman of the Year.

Tip-off between the Eagles and Railsplitters is set for 5:00 PM today in Rock Hill, SC.
