Frankfort, KY- Pozzuto and Company had themselves a day on the road, taking down Kentucky State in dominant 13-1, 6-0 wins.
Game one would be a hit fest, LMU tallying 17 in the contest from 10 different Splitters. It would be
Reese Vivrette crossing the plate first, scoring as
Madison Henry reached on an infield error.
Jordann Reagan would step up to gain an RBI as well in the frame to score
Sterre den Duijn. LMU would continue the momentum, den Duijn hitting a two RBI single and Pozzuto stepping in to earn her first RBI on the day in the second. Pozzuto would appear again in the fourth inning, where she would sent a three-run shot over the center field wall to add three more to the lead. A lone run from KSU wouldn't be heard, however, as the sixth inning would feature several more for the Splitter squad.
Nicole Couvertiere with a two RBI double,
Gracie Palmer and
Anna Kate Reichter each with an RBI single, and den Duijn reaching on error would close out the game's scoring.
Margot van Eijl would have a DOMINANT day on the mound as her complete game would feature 11 strikeouts.
Game two would be all LMU. Pozzuto would earn yet another RBI in the first to score
Hannah McMeen. Later on in the fifth, Pozzuto would send her second homer over the wall. This one would be a three-run shot to extend the lead to four. Reagan would later score on a wild pitch in the frame. Pozzuto would round out her impressive day with her ninth of the day in the bottom of the sixth, as her base hit would yet again score McMeen.Â
Lincoln Memorial rounds out their regular season at 26-24 (11-13). The team was recently dubbed the seven-seed in the SAC Tournament. They will see their first action in the conference tournament on Friday, April 26th, against Anderson in Anderson, SC starting at 1 PM.Â
