Harrogate, TN- Women's volleyball will host Wingate for their home opener on Friday, September 20th, at 7 PM in Mary Mars Gym.
Despite being 6-3 (0-2) on the season, LMU has yet to play at home this year. The team returns to Harrogate after their most recent action going 3-1 at the Flame Invitational last weekend before falling on the road to Mars Hill on Tuesday. Overall, LMU holds a .210 attack percentage for an average of 12 kills per set. More per set statistics for the team include over 11 assists per set, over two aces per set, 14 digs per set, and nearly two blocks per set.
Kristen Moehring leads the team in kills, totaling 135 on the season so far.
Abigail Kesler has also shown to be key offensively, coming off a solid game on Tuesday to bring her attack percentage to .274 on the year and the second leader in kills. Setter
Lauren Pickett leads the team in assists (324) and aces (17) to be a continued player to watch for as the season moves forward. Defensively,
Lauren Jacob continues to garner double-digit digs, her tally now up to 131 on the season.Â
Wingate will be a tough task on Friday, the Bulldogs going 8-1 so far this season with their sole loss going to #21 West Florida. Though hitting .285 on the year, LMU holds the edge in the set, serve, and blocking categories. The two programs are familiar opponents, Wingate being the leader in the series history between them.Â
With a theme of Pajama Party, the game marks the first of LMU's series of Stronger Together Games.Â
