Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters fell to the Coker Cobras Saturday afternoon 62-55.
The first quarter was a battle, but the Cobras outscored Lincoln Memorial 18-11. In the second quarter, both teams struggled offensively as neither team was able to score double digits, with Coker only scoring 9 and LMU scoring 7. The score going into halftime was 27-18 with Coker in the lead. The majority of the points for the Lady Railsplitters in the first half came from the paint, with 12 out of the 18 points coming from there.
In the third, Coker brought the same energy as the first as they scored 20 compared to LMU's 11. In the fourth, Lincoln Memorial brought their offensive forces as they scored half of their total points in the fourth. LMU posted 27 points, with
Lexi Patty and
Kamil Collier each scoring 10 points each, and Coker only posted 15 points. Despite the high scoring fourth quarter for Lincoln Memorial, Coker kept the lead to get the win, with the final score being 62-55.
Kamil Collier registered her seventh double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and posting 12 rebounds, 10 of those being defensive rebounds.
Lexi Patty nearly had a double-double as she scored her season-high 14 points and also posting a season-high 9 rebounds, all defensive.
Alexa Smiddy recorded 9 points and 4 rebounds, and
Dominique Rodriguez scored 4 points.
Jamyah Winter recorded 3 points, while
Caroline Sikkink and
Matty Tanner rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial went 39.6% from the field and 26.7% from behind the arch. The team went 9-17 from the free throw line and posted 41 rebounds, with 32 of those being defensive, which is a season-high for the team.
With the loss, Lincoln Memorial moves to 6-8 overall and 5-6 in the SAC.
For their next game, they will travel to Greenville, TN on January 15
th to face Tusculum for the second match up of the season. Tip off is set for 5:30 pm.
