11th-ranked Lincoln Memorial travels to Tusculum for midweek match up

Harrogate, TN - Following a 2-0 week last week with wins over Carson-Newman on the road and a win over #21 Coker at home, the Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is gearing up for a midweek match up with the Tusculum Pioneers on Wednesday. The Railsplitters hosted the Pioneers earlier this season and took a 78-62 victory at home in mid December.

Tusculum has had a rough season so far, tallying a 3-12 record with a 3-8 mark in conference play. The Pioneers are only averaging 70 points-per-game. Tusculum is led in scoring by Bryce Jackson, who averages 19 points-per-game, good for fourth in the conference. He is followed by Malachi Hale who averages 13.8 points-per-game.

Lincoln Memorial has earned an 11-2 record overall with a 9-1 mark in conference play at this juncture of the season and are ranked 11th nationally by the NABC. The Railsplitters are averaging 85.5 points-per-game while allowing only 74.7 points-per-game, good for an average margin of victory of 10.8 points-per-game which is the 34th best margin in the nation. Lincoln Memorial has played extremely efficient on offense this season, ranking sixth nationally in field goal percentage and eighth nationally in offensive efficiency.

Lincoln Memorial's offense is led by Wes Enis, who averages 20.2 points-per-game and 4.3 rebounds-per-game. He is followed by Elyjah Freeman who had a tremendous week last week, tallying 71 points and 23 rebounds in two games in route to being named the SAC men's basketball Player of the Week, with 18.8 points-per-game and 8.3 rebounds-per-game, good for fifth in the conference. Freeman is the highest scoring and rebounding freshman in the conference. EJ Smith continues to facilitate the offense, averaging 10.4 points-per-game. Jordan Walters is on the cusp of double figures, averaging 9.5 points-per-game to go along with 3.5 rebounds and a team-leading four assists-per-game.

So far on the season, Lincoln Memorial has held every opponent its faced to less than its season average in points scored per game.

Tip-off between Lincoln Memorial and Tusculum is slated for 7:30 PM on Wednesday.
