Men's Volleyball To Face Harvard & Saint Francis This Weekend

Cambridge, MA - The Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters will travel to Cambridge, MA to face Harvard University on Friday, January 31st at 7 pm and Saint Francis University on Saturday, February 1st at 4 pm. 

Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 1-3 win against Quincy (29-27, 21-25, 23-25, 21-25). Matthew Gentry was the leader in kills, tallying 16 kills for a 0.419 attack percentage. Gentry also had one service ace, 5 blocks (1 solo block, 4 block assists), and 2 digs. John Luers led the team in assists with 46, and Ethan Morgan and Gentry both led in blocks with 5 each. Tate Colebaugh and Luers both posted double-digit digs, with Luers recording 12 and Colebaugh tallying 11. 

Offensively, Axel van Baars is leading the team in kills, totaling 53 kills so far on the season for a 0.252 attack percentage and 2.79 kills per set. Luers has 206 assists for an average of 10.84 assists per set. Gentry so far is leading in service aces with 7. Defensively, Colebaugh and Gentry are both leading in digs with 19 each, with Colebaugh posting almost 2 digs per set, 1.74, and Gentry registering 0.95 digs per set. Gentry is also leading the team in blocks, 11 solo blocks and 14 block assists for a total of 25 digs and an average pf 1.32 blocks per set. 

Gentry was most recently named the Juicespot Railsplitter of the Week for his performance against Quincy. The Railsplitters' record is 5-0 are currently on a 5-game winning streak. In the most recent AVCA National Collegitate Men's Volleyball Poll that was released January 27th, Lincoln Memorial was still receiving votes.

LMU vs Harvard:
Lincoln Memorial will face Harvard University on Friday, January 31st at 7 pm. 

This will only be the second time that the two teams have faced each other. The first match between Lincoln Memorial and Harvard resulted in a 2-3 Harvard win (22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 15-17). 

Harvard is in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, and their currently record is 2-2. They have not started conference play.In the most recent AVCA National Collegitate Men's Volleyball Poll that was released January 27th, Harvard was #19.

LMU vs Saint Francis:
Lincoln Memorial will face Harvard University on Saturday, February 1st at 4 pm. 

This will also only be the second time that LMU and Saint Francis will be facing each other. Their first match, which was in January of 2020, resulted in a 3-2 Railsplitter win (25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12). 

Saint Francis is in the Northeast Conference, and their currently record is 1-6. They have not started conference play.
