Harrogate, TN - Four days after falling on the road at Belmont Abbey in a hard-fought contest, the Lincoln Memorial field hockey team takes to its home turf on Saturday, seeking the biggest win to-date for the program. The Railsplitters play host to the 3rd-ranked team in the nation, the Newberry Wolves. Earlier in the season, Newberry cruised to a decisive victory on its home field. The Wolves are undefeated on the season and enter the contest 11-0 on the season with a 7-0 mark in conference play. Lincoln Memorial enters the game with a 4-9 overall record, including a 1-5 record in conference play.
The Railsplitters are led in scoring by
Jolie Plaisier with four goals on the season, totaling eight points. She is followed by
Jimena Loustalot with three goals and an assist, totaling seven points on the season.
Olivia Rosini follows with two goals and an assist on the season, totaling five points on the season. She is one goal away from becoming Lincoln Memorial's all-time leader in career goals.
Kelsey Beauchamp and
Lainey Hockersmith have added a goal and an assist each on the season, totaling three points each.
Guadalupe Montaldo leads Lincoln Memorial in assists with three, totaling three points on the year. Newcomer
Naomi Spangler has one goal on the season, good for two points.
Lise Holla has one assists on the year. Goalkeeper
Cayla Wiggins leads the South Atlantic Conference in saves with 83 on the season, eight more than the second place goalkeeper.
Lincoln Memorial and Newberry are slated to begin at noon on Saturday at the LMU Lacrosse Complex.
