Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team will have their second home match of the week on Saturday as they host the Mars Hill Lions Saturday evening at 4 pm. The weekend match is also senior day where seven seniors will be honored for their contributions to the LMU women's soccer program:
Ellie Snyder,
Jade Brown,
Maiara Windszus Pessanha,
Gabby Barnes,
Raven Wellington,
Ally Bevins, and
Hannah Stafford.
Saturday's contest will be the 27th overall meeting between the two teams, with Lincoln Memorial dominating the series 20-5-1. The most recent meeting between the Railsplitters and the Lions was last season on October 20th, 2024, where Lincoln Memorial defeated Mars Hill on the road 2-0. The last time LMU defeated Mars Hill at home was on November 6, 2019, where the Railsplitters got the victory over the Lions 3-0.
LMU is looking to add a conference win to their record on Saturday as they are coming off a 0-0 draw against Carson-Newman on October 15th.
Currently,
Paige Branam is leading the team in points with 12, accounting for five goals and two assists. Snyder follows with nine points for four goals and one assist.
Viktoria Filsner is the team-leader in shots and shots on goal with 27 and 14, respectively. Goalkeeper
Emma Cooke has registered 53 saves on the season so far.
In the South Atlantic Conference, Branam is 6th in the conference in game-winning goals (2), 5th in total goals (5) , and 7th in total points (12). Cooke is 2nd in the conference in saves per game (4.55), and 2nd in total saves (53), and FIlsner is 6th in shot accuracy (0.583).
As a team, LMU is 3rd in corner kicks per game (6.64), 3rd in saves per game (4.82), 4th in shots per game (14.82), and 3rd in shots on goal per game (7.36).
Mars Hill is coming off of a 10-0 loss against Lenoir-Rhyne on October 15th.
The Railsplitters are entering the weekend match with a 5-4-3 overall record and a conference record of 1-3-2. In the SAC standings, LMU is tied for 5th place with Emory & Henry with five points.
The Lions are going into the weekend with an overall record of 1-8 and a 0-6 conference record. Mars Hill is sitting in 7th place in the SAC standings with zero points.
The Senior Night recognition for the women's soccer program will take place at halftime of the men's match, which kicks off at 7 pm.
