Men's Soccer Hosts Carson-Newman Wednesday

Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial men's soccer stays at home for their only match of the week as they host the Carson-Newman Eagles on Wednesday at 7 pm at LMU Lacrosse Complex. 

Wednesday's match up will be the 24th overall meeting between the Railsplitters and the Eagles, with LMU coming out on top int he series 12-10-1. The most recent face off between the Lincoln Memorial and Carson-Newman was last season on October 16th, 2024 in Jefferson City, where LMU came out victorious over C-N 2-1. The last time that the Lincoln Memorial defeated the Carson-Newman at home was on October 11th, 2023, where the Railsplitters defeated the Eagles 1-0. 

Lincoln Memorial seeking to continue the momentum off of their 3-0 shutout over Mars Hill on October 18th. Antonio Talavera scored the first goal in the 52nd minute, assisted by Filip Jeppesen. Next, Ronan O'Mahony Blondel added a goal from a penalty kick in the 78th minute,  then Gian-Carlo Kama tallied the last goal in the 88th minute. 

Currently, Kama is leading the team in points with eight for team-high four goals, and O'Mahony Blondel is the team leader in assists with four. Kama is also the team-leader in shots and shots on goal with 26 and 12, respectively. Goalkeeper Daniel Benedek Miklosi has 44 saves on the season. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, O'Mahony Blondel is leading in assists per game (0.44) and in total assists (4). Kama is 7th in goals per came (0.33), 6th in shot accuracy (0.462) and 6th in total goals (4). Benedek Miklosi is 2nd in goalie minutes played (1080), 8th in goals against average (1.250), 4th in save percentage (74.6), 3rd in saves per game (3.67), 4th in shutouts (3), and 1st in total saves (44). 

Nationally, Benedek Miklosi is 24th in goalie minutes played. 

The Eagles are coming off of a 3-0 loss against Lenoir-Rhyne on October 18th.

The Railsplitters are entering the midweek contest with a 4-7-1 overall record and an conference record of 4-2-1. In the SAC standings, Lincoln Memorial in 3rd place. 

Mars Hill is coming into Wednesday with a 1-7-3 overall record and a 1-4-1 conference record. The Eagles are in 7th place in the SAC standings. 

The theme for Wednesday's match is Glow Night, as fans are invited to pack the stands in glowing colors and light up the night in support of the Railsplitters.

Kickoff is set for 7 pm at LMU Lacrosse Complex. The match will be played on Flo College, and the link to the stream along with live stats can be found below.
