Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team host their lone home match of the week on Wednesday as they host the Newberry Wolves at 2:30 pm at LMU Lacrosse Complex.
The midweek meeting will be the 22nd all-time contest between Lincoln Memorial and Newberry, with the Railsplitters winning the series 12-7-2. Their most recent match up was last season on October 12, 2024 at Newberry, where LMU came out on top 3-0. The last time that Lincoln Memorial was victorious over the wolves at home was on September 23, 2023, where the Railsplitters defeated Newberry 1-0.

Maiara Windszus Pessanha scored her first two career goals in the 25th and 71st minutes, assisted by
Ellie Snyder and
Ava Garrett, respectively.
Edie Wilds added a goal in the 8th minute (assisted by Snyder),
Astrid Palmblad in the 51st minute (assisted by Snyder), and the Lions had an own goal in the 89th minute.
Paige Branam and Snyder are leading the team in points as they both have 12, with Branam recording five goals and two assists and Snyder tallying four goals and four assists.
Viktoria Filsner is the team-leader in shots and shots on goal with 31 and 18, respectively. Goalkeeper
Emma Cooke has 54 saves on the season so far for a 74% save percentage.
In the South Atlantic Conference, Branam is 6th in the conference in game-winning goals (2), 7th in total goals (5). Cooke is 1st in the conference in goalie minutes played (1170), 6th in saves per game (4.15), 4th in shutouts (6), and 3rd in total saves (54). FIlsner is 6th in shot accuracy (0.583) and 3rd in shots on goal per game (1.38).
Nationally, Cooke is 8th in goalie minutes played and 25th in shutouts.
As a team, LMU is 4th in the SAC in corner kicks per game (6.46), 5th in saves per game (4.38), 2nd in shots per game (15.08), 4th in shots on goal per game (7.38), 5th in shutout percentage (46.2), and 5th in total points (70). Nationally, the Railsplitters are 17th in corner kicks per game.
Newberry is coming off of a 1-2 loss against Wingate on October 18th.
The Railsplitters are entering the week day match with a 6-4-3 overall record and a conference record of 2-3-2. In the SAC standings, LMU is tied for 5th place with Carson-Newman with eight points.
The Wolves are going into Wednesday with an overall record of 5-4-1 and a 1-4 conference record. Newberry is sitting in 7th place in the SAC standings with three points.
The theme for Wednesday's match is Neon Day, as fans are encouraged to light up the stands in their brightest gear to cheer on the Railsplitters.
