Women's Soccer Faces Anderson in Road Contest Saturday

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team will travel to Anderson, SC to face the Anderson Trojans on Saturday, October 25th, with the match beginning at 6 pm. 

Saturday's match will be the 16th overall meeting between the two teams, with the Railsplitters falling in the series 5-7-3. Their most recent contest was last season on October 26, 2024 at home, where the match ended in a 0-0 draw. The last time that LMU defeated the Trojans in Anderson was on October 23, 2010, before the Tasha Flynn era, and the Railsplitters got the victory in double overtime 2-1. 

Lincoln Memorial is looking to add three more points to the conference standings as they are coming off of a 1-1 draw against Newberry on October 22nd. In the 86th minute, Viktoria Filsner's corner connected with Riley Miller, who headed the ball in the back of the net. 

Paige Branam and Ellie Snyder are the team leaders in points with 12, with Branam having five goals and two assists and Snyder with four goals and four assists. Filsner is leading the team in shots and shots on goal with 37 and 22, respectively. Goalkeeper Emma Cooke has 58 saves on the season so far for a 74% save percentage. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Branam is 6th in the conference in game-winning goals (2) and 8th in total goals (5). Cooke is 1st in the conference in goalie minutes played (1260), 6th in saves per game (4.14), 4th in shutouts (6), and 2nd in total saves (58). FIlsner is 3rd in shot accuracy (0.595), 4th in shots per game (2.64), 2nd in shots on goal per game (1.57), and 5th in assists (5).

Nationally, Cooke is 5th in goalie minutes played and 27th in shutouts. 

As a team, LMU is 4th in the SAC in corner kicks per game (6.43), 3rd in shots per game (15.64), 3rd in shots on goal per game (7.71), and 5th total assists (19). Nationally, the Railsplitters are 16th in corner kicks per game. 

Anderson is coming off of a 3-0 win against Mars Hill on October 22nd. 

The Railsplitters are entering the weekend match with a 6-4-4 overall record and a conference record of 2-3-3. In the SAC standings, LMU is in 7th place with nine points. 

The Trojans are going into Saturday with an overall record of 7-4-1 and a 4-3 conference record. Anderson is tied for third place with Wingate and Coker in the SAC standings with 12 points
