Harrogate, TN -- Although the Lincoln Memorial field hockey team finishes the regular season on Halloween night, there's nothing scary about where the Railsplitters are headed following the conclusion of the regular season. On the heels of a program record-setting year, Lincoln Memorial field hockey is headed to the postseason for the first time in its short program history. Following its inaugural season of competition in 2022, the field hockey program has steadily improved, seeing its efforts culminate into its very first postseason appearance this year. The Railsplitters set a new program mark for wins in a season, conference wins, and most goals scored in a season, along with various individual records and achievements. Lincoln Memorial has earned a 5-11 record overall on the year with a 2-7 mark in conference play, taking 6th in the conference, earning its way into the conference tournament for the first time.
However, the Railsplitters can still improve on their regular season record and gain some momentum ahead of the conference tournament. Nearly a week after defeating Barton on Senior Day in record-breaking fashion, Lincoln Memorial will play host to the Converse Valkyries on Halloween night at 5 PM. It's Costume Night for the program. Attendees are encouraged to wear their costumes to the game, where there will be a costume contest.Â
On the season, The Railsplitters are led in scoring byÂ
Jolie Plaisier with five goals on the season, with one assist, totaling eight points. She is followed byÂ
