Travis Muncy named Juice Spot Railsplitter of the Week

Harrogate, TN - There have been many Railsplitters of the Week -- but few, if any, have the same dedication and time invested into Lincoln Memorial as Athletic Director Travis Muncy. Muncy was named the Athletic Director in early 2024 after serving 20 years as the head coach of the Lincoln Memorial University men's golf team and 18 seasons at the helm of the women's program.

The 2018-19 season was a high mark in Muncy's tenure as the Railsplitters became a national name following their runner-up finish at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship in Daniels, West Virginia. Other notable accolades include:
- Six-Time SAC Coach of the Year (2013, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022)
- Four-Time Men's SAC Championships (2010, 2013, 2016, 2021, 2024)
- Two SAC Tournament Medalists (2013, 2021)
- Coached Seven SAC Players of the Year
- Coached Three SAC Freshmen of the Year
- Currently made NCAA South/Southeast Region seven straight years
- Two-Time Division II Southeast Region Coach of the Year honor (2018, 2019)
- Twice had a student athlete named National Player of the Year Finalist
- #1 Ranking in Nation in Fall of 2021
After taking over the women's program in 2005, Muncy kept the Railsplitters among the top programs in the SAC. In 10 of his last 12 years, Muncy led LMU to a top five finish at the SAC Tournament.

Coach Muncy coached 11 total All-Americans during his time as men's and women's coach.

Prior to the 2009-10 season, Muncy retired as director of golf operations at Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tennessee, and turned his total attention to collegiate coaching. As a head professional, Muncy received many awards for his services, including Head Professional of the Year in 2002, Horton Smith Award in 2002 and 2003 and three Tennessee Section awards for Merchandiser of the Year.

Muncy played his collegiate golf at Edison College before turning pro and playing on the Hogan Tour. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from LMU in 1998 and received a Master of Business Administration from LMU in 2004.  Later this week, Muncy will be inducted into the Lincoln Memorial Hall of Fame.
